Random Consortium & Third Party Administration Services
The Department of Transportation regulations specify random testing criteria for drug testing and alcohol testing which employers must follow for their safety-sensitive employees. These criteria determine the testing rates which must be met on a quarterly and annual basis. Companies that are regulated by FMCSA who employ CDL drivers must randomly drug test 25% of their employees in the DOT pool, and test for alcohol in 10% of their employees in the DOT pool.
Smaller companies who have only a handful of employees find it difficult to perform truly random sampling. To address this problem, Trinity Drug Testing provides Third Party Administrator services where we manage a DOT Consortium pool on behalf of the employer. This allows smaller companies to add their employees to our broad DOT Consortium pool so that true random sampling can occur. Then on a monthly and quarterly basis, we will utilize computer software to randomly select individuals for drug and alcohol testing. The only thing you are required to do is provide Trinity Drug Testing staff with a current employee list on a monthly basis.
Our TPA services are very affordable. Our annual fee is based on the number of employees you have and starts at only $100 per year. This is a very inexpensive way to make sure that you remain in compliance with DOT Regulations.
